When I first saw this quilt tut video, I knew I wanted to make it for my son and that I wanted it white, black and red, a combo of colors he likes. I bought the fabric, pre-cut into 2 1/2" x 40" strips on E-Bay. Jelly rolls usually have 42 strips in them. I put black flannel on the back and soon realized that I don't care for working with flannel. It stretches and crawls and 100% cotton just works so much better for quilts. I like to use 80/20 cotton batting. Plenty warm for South Mississippi. Eric loves it
